Finish Line Goal: $600,000
At Adaptive Sports Connection, life gets better with every adventure, reminding us that the Power of Ability truly knows no bounds. We’re inviting the entire community to rally around this life-changing mission.
With incredible support, we’ve reached 94% of our Phase I goal for the Power of Ability Initiative.
The Power of Ability Initiative is an Adaptive Sports Connection (ASC) campaign focused on breaking down barriers and empowering individuals with disabilities through recreational and therapeutic sports, education, and wellness programs. It aims to create transformative opportunities that foster physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Key Objectives:
- Expand Access: Build state-of-the-art facilities, such as the Adventure and Wellness Lodge in Shawnee Hills designed to accommodate veterans, children, and adults with disabilities.
- Innovative Programming: Provide cutting-edge adaptive sports programs, therapeutic activities, and wellness initiatives that encourage independence and resilience.
- Community Impact: Foster inclusion by engaging families, caregivers, and community partners to build a supportive and connected environment.
- Sustainability: Fund scholarships, equipment, and resources through donations, sponsorships, and grants to ensure long-term support for participants.
Why it Matters:
The Power of Ability Initiative highlights the belief that everyone deserves a chance to experience the freedom, joy, and confidence that come from participating in sports and outdoor activities, regardless of their physical or cognitive abilities. This initiative is transforming lives by proving that the power of ability is stronger than any limitation.
Since its launch on April 1, 2022, the Power of Ability initiative has drawn the backing of the most influential philanthropic leaders in Columbus, setting the stage for transformational impact—and now, we're inviting you to join us in driving this momentum forward.
