Campaign Chairs
Pete & Chris Edwards

Since the launch of our $15 million Power of Ability campaign one year ago, we have been incredibly fortunate to have so many community champions, businesses, and foundations rallying around our vision and supporting our programs. On behalf of our Adaptive Sports Connection Board, staff, and adaptive athletes, thank you. Because of your support, hundreds of children, veterans, and individuals with diverseabilities will be able to experience the life-changing impact, both physically and mentally, of adaptive recreational sports.

Together, we continue to inspire boundless courage, shred limitations, and build community. We are currently 1/3 of the way to our fundraising goal. As our momentum continues, we are excited to share updates and campaign milestones with you, so stay tuned!

Thank you to all our campaign donors to date! We appreciate your enthusiasm and support for the Power of Ability Initiative! This is a game-changer! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or ideas.

Boundless Impact
Amadu’s Story

Meet Amadu Kamara: Our newest ASC athlete, instructor, and ambassador and future team captain for the soon to be ASC amputee soccer team. Amadu came to Columbus to escape the war in Sierra Leone. He lost his leg and his family, and shared that he was able to deal with the horrific grief by keeping his teammates together and playing amputee Futbol. Prior to moving to Columbus, Amadu was part of The Sierra Leone Amputee Futbal team for 22 years. His dedication helped bring the team to the World Cup in Amputee Futbol, allowing them to travel to Tokyo, Brazil, Spain, Russia, and England. Amadu’s favorite part about going to the World Cup was seeing all the amputees, and his dream is for even more amputees to be involved in the sport.

Seeing what we were doing at ASC brought a huge smile to his face to see our program grow in the number of amputee participants each week. We are excited about our connection with the Sierra Leone team and look forward to everything they can teach us about the sport, resiliency, and life.
